Courier compensations are a vital part of the workflow for when using a delivery platform. On this document you will find the following information:

TABLE OF CONTENTS

What type of compensations our system offers and how to set them up

There are two types of compensations for your couriers, Hourly which will compensate the courier for the amount of time he stays active working and Per order which will compensate the courier for every delivery completed. To select any of these options first go to the Settings tab on the upper navigation bar.

Then, go to the Users tab on the left sidebar and click on the editing icon of the courier whose compensation method you wish to modify.

In the newly opened window select the payment method (Hourly/Per order).

Courier delivery fees

Along with the Hourly and Per order compensations, the fees for the couriers can be modified depending on the region or distance. To modify these fees go to the settings tab on the upper navigation panel.

Then select Courier delivery fees on the left sidebar, the first parameter that you will find is Delivery Fee Calculation Mode, there are three options you can choose in this parameter:

Fixed Region based, Distance based or Mixed mode.

If you select the Fixed region based mode you will be able to edit the following settings:

  • Delivery fee calculation mode - Fixed region based (mode selector)

  • General delivery price (price for any given delivery)

  • Fixed delivery price for (region selected) the price that any delivery will have if it reaches this area

To set a fixed price for any region, click on the Add field and choose the relevant region you wish to edit, then click on the Add button and hit Save.

The delivery costs will be calculated in the following way:

  1. If the order belongs to a delivery region from the Exceptional Region Settings list, the delivery cost will be the cost that we set for this region (in our screenshot the delivery cost for order that belongs to delivery region London Area will be 27)

If the order belongs to a delivery region that doesn’t appear in the Exceptional Regions Settings list, the delivery cost will be the General Delivery Price  (25 in our screen)

If you select the Distance based mode you will be able to edit the following settings:

  • Delivery fee calculation mode - Distance based (mode selector)

  • Base rate (price for base rate distance)

  • Maximum rate per delivery (the maximum price per delivery that can be)

  • Distance in meters for base rate (distance which will be calculated according to “base rate”, the distance over this value will be calculated according to the value in “rate for extra mile”)

  • Rate for extra mile (price for distance over the “Distance in meters for base rate”)

For this mode, the delivery cost is calculated based on the distance between the business and the delivery address:

-       Base rate charged for base distance

-       For additional km (above the base distance) the delivery cost increases in (Rate for extra mile)

-       The cost will never be higher than (Maximum rate per delivery)

In our screenshot, the delivery cost will be 8.5 for the first 2 miles. For any additional mile, the cost will be increased in 1.61 and the delivery cost will not exceed 22.

If you select the Mixed mode you will be able to edit the following settings:

Delivery cost calculation mode - Distance based (mode selector)

Base rate (price for base rate distance)

Maximum delivery price (the maximum price per delivery that can be)

Distance in meters for base rate (distance which will be calculated according to “base rate”, the distance over this value will be calculated according to the value in “rate for extra mile”)

Rate for extra KM (price for distance over the “Distance in meters for base rate”)

And Exceptional Region Settings – fixed delivery cost settings per delivery region.

In mixed mode, the delivery cost will be calculated in the following way:

-       If the order belongs to delivery region from Exceptional Region Settings list the cost will be as the price for this region (in our sample the delivery cost for order for the London area will be 15)

-       If the order belongs to a region that doesn’t appear in the Exceptional Region Settings list, the delivery cost will be calculated based on the distance between the business and delivery address, just as explained above in the “Distance based” section.

In our screenshot, the delivery cost will be 8.5 for the first 2 miles. Per additional mile, the cost will be increased in 1.61. The delivery cost will not exceed 10.5.
