When do you need a Control Center?

Control centers are a way to split the account to multiple independent units. Control centers are helpful when you work in several distant zones (and your drivers only work in a specific zone), deliver very large amounts of orders within the same zone, and need to separate the workload between multiple teams, or when you have a pickup location which requires a lot of attention (its own drivers, dispatcher etc).

For each Control Center, a separate report can be extracted.

We suggest to use Control Centers in the following scenarios:

  1. Territory-based. If your operation area cannot be covered with the same fleet and you have dedicated fleets for each zone. In this case, you may want to use the same manager to supervise all your control centers and to dispatch only to the drivers dedicated to those control centers they are assigned to

  1. Volume-based. Once your order volumes become large enough it get difficult to one person to monitor them all (from our experience it usually happens around 10-20K orders a month). In this case, you may want to split your account into two or more control centers with dedicated managers, businesses (pickup locations), and couriers.

  1. SLA-based. If you have an important customer that you want to give separate attention to, this customer may require dedicated drivers, dispatcher and separate reports. In this case, you may have a separate control center for that customer only.

Understand the hierarchy of Control Centers

Control Center adds hierarchy to the account.

In DelivApp, each control center has a dedicated Manager, who is only able to see what is assigned to their control center: that includes couriers, and businesses (pickup locations).

Control Centers managers have wider responsibility and can open or close shifts for Managers.

Supervisor managers everyone.

Starting to work with Control Centers

When your account is being switched to the account with Control Centers, you need to make sure you login from the Supervisor or Control Centers Manager role, to be able to perform the necessary setup for the account.

Assign couriers to a control center

To assign couriers, first go to the Settings tab, choose Users, and click the Edit button (pencil button) of the user you’d like to assign to a control center:

Now you can choose the control center you’d like to assign the user to under Default Control Center. If you choose the blank option, the user will not be assigned to a control center and will have access to all of them.

Assign businesses to a control center

To assign businesses, first go to the Settings tab, choose Depot Settings, and click the Edit button (pencil button) of the business you’d like to assign to a control center:

Now you can choose the control center you’d like to assign the business to under Default Control Center. If you choose the blank option, the business will not be assigned to a control center and will effectively be in all of them.

Check that you see the Control Centers in the Superviser account

For the supervisor, in order to view the areas, orders and couriers in a control center, head to the Dashboard tab and choose the control center on the left sidebar:

After choosing the appropriate control center, you will see only the orders, areas and businesses in it.
